Dalgopol
The town of Dalgapol (Varna District) is located in the
North East of Bulgaria and is the centre for Dulgopol
Municipality (15 settlements). It is located along the
Kamchiya River approx. 65 km southwest of the City of
Varna.
There is evidence for the existence of the settlement in
the Ottoman documents from XV and XVII c. Until 1934
the town was known has Novo selo. The region around
Dalgapol is renowned for its production of vines, fruits,
and vegetables. Within the boundaries of the town there
are traces of a prehistoric settlement, fortresses and a
necropolis from Roman Byzantine and Bulgarian period.
